I don't think they have a choice as far as the Vita is concerned. Unlike the PS4, most third-parties have gone AWOL--it's been as bad as the WiiU for well over a year now. They need some kind of conduit to prove that there's interest and value in the device from a developer standpoint.
Those games should've been out by now, or at least announced.
And I think console-sized games can work really well if they're designed with portable use in mind. Soul Sacrifice and Dynasty Warriors Next are perfect in that regard.
Really looking forward to KZ and Blackgate, too. Still need to get Dragon's Crown, as well, but I'm broke as shit. :(
Doubt there's much interest in doing so now, what with how crappily the device has been selling. It's pretty much up to Sony now. *sigh*

I literally just had a conversation with a co-worker earlier today who said the price of the Vita and its memory is why he's leaning towards a 3DS. Couldn't really argue with that logic.
Sony needs to do something dramatic to pull the Vita out of it's current low sales limbo. Simply leaning on a redesign and a few new game announcements isn't going to cut it. We need something bigger and bolder--something that proves they're willing to do whatever it takes to get it into people's homes, and that it's more than just an overpriced PS4 accessory that happens to play games.
I totally respect companies' right to make money. But that's not a blank check.
I seriously don't get how they thought they could get away with this after seeing how the 3DS got it's ass kicked at the same price point.
I'm gonna be getting rid of stuff to make room for the games I want from the Japan sale, because it's gonna take up something like 5GB. Why that should be an issue in 2013, I have no idea. -_-
