Turok and Turok 2 are on Steam now. They've upped the draw distance and improved the controls dramatically, and they both run pretty well.
This is why I disagree with you :p
I've only seen gameplay footage, and it looks all kinds of jank.
Legends really doesn't feel like a Mega Man game though, despite being the superior of the two. I'd argue the series really hasn't translated to 3D well at all really. It's a shame, because a good 3D mega man game would be pretty fun.
I don't think a lot of it holds up today due to the controls, but I will say I think Mario feels the best he's felt in 3D mario games. Later games made him a bit floatier, which is fine, but I think 64 feels better.
That's a pretty fair reason. 3D Mario and 2D Mario almost feel like different series, while Metroid still feels like Metroid.
Metroidvania is a genre though, like it or not. Metroid is called a Metroidvania, as Castlevania. It's a stupid as fuck genre name, but it's all we have. So yes, Metroid is an Axiomvania. Axiom-Vergia? Whatever.
Have you seen Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blog? She's in that. If not, you should watch it asap, it's my favourite musical and it has Neil Patrick Harris in it.
And oh yeah, I guess you're right. I forgot about Chrono Cross for a sec.
I think Bloodborne topped it in terms of Atmosphere, but if we're just talking Souls games, you're right.
I have played Chrono Trigger. While there are darker moments, for the most part it feels pretty light and whimsical - at least compared to I Am Setsuna. I could see it being a side story if some of the more maudlin scenes were toned down though.
Felicia Day's most famous role is in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but she's in tons of things. She's a massive gamer and pops up in award shows, podcasts, and has her own youtube shows on Geek and Sundry. The most famous one was The Guild, which was a sitcom-esque webshow about an MMO Guild.
That mobile clicker game was so depressing. I don't even mind clicker games, since I have anxiety and they're a great way to lower my stress without really thinking about stuff, but that katamari game was even a bad clicker game! There's supposed to be a game using similar mechanics coming out on Steam but I doubt it'll capture the sheer joy of playing Katamari.
