Haven't watched any of the GoT series, not having access to cable. George RR Martin has no idea where he's taking the series, and it shows in the later books. I gave up after the fourth one, and Jason was turned off by whatever the most recent book was. I figure if he didn't like it, I probably won't. The Name of the WInd is probably my favorite work of fantasy since American Gods. I haven't read the second one yet, I was waiting for it to come out in paperback. Another series I've really been enjoying is Cherie Priest's Clockwork Century. I have the first three books - they have it all: airships, pirates, steampunk inventions, zombies, good writing, action, adventure, interesting characters, fun alternate history.

Having been deprived of it for so long, I LOVE TV! But I generally use it for movies or games these days, because I refuse to cough up the ridiculous sums of money demanded by the cable companies.

I was homeless once for two months myself. I, too, had a job. The number of working homeless is much larger than most people realize. My dog Clancy and I lived out of a tent in one of the state park campgrounds, because it was free for me to stay there. And they liked having me there because if people were acting up after quiet hours, I'd go out in my uniform and tell them to quiet down. Didn't hurt that Clancy was always on heel, either, lol. Luckily, I found something reasonable fairly soon, but it was a long two months.

Glad you and your bigger little one had a fun daddy/daughter day.

I don't think it's you, I think the game is seriously hard. Especially those stupid egg levels in the second world. I have yet to beat the last one so I can go on to the next world.

The lonely rich kid who lived up the hill from me when I was 12 and lived overseas had a bunch of the Game & Watch games. I was very envious.

I was unaware of the online pass for LBP Karting and luckily bought a new copy, which came with the code. I also found it quite disoncerting that a game that is essentially built for online multiplayer requires it.

A lot of anime doesn't click with me, but I'll have to see if I like some of the ones mentioned here.

Jason eyed these games a few times, but never picked any of them up. I'll shoot (hah! see what I did there?) him a link to this blog entry and he can make up his mind whether he might actually like the game. He never plays for achievements, so it might be up his alley.

I'm seasonal again, I have a 26 week position. I've got about another six weeks to go. My boss would like to have me on for at least 40 weeks, but I don't see that happening under the current Maine government. However, I live in a small town with a crap-ton of retail outlets, and Target said they'd hire me back, so I'm not too worried about winter job prospects.

ROFLMAO! That had to be one of the most entertaining game play videos I've ever watched! And you didn't swear, well done! I'd have dropped the f bomb at least a hundred times by the end if I'd been playing. I swear I have game-induced Tourette's Syndrome.
