While Waiting for Forza Horizon 3

Posted on 01/04/2018 at 12:56 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Wait until you die in SaGa 2 first, then you'll get to rebuild your party.

To upgrade your skills in SaGa 2, you have to use them.  So to increae your hit points, get hit a bunch.  To increase your attack, use a weapon a lot.  To beef up your magic, use a lot of spells.  That's also how FF2 worked, and both games were directed by the game guy as well.

The way formations work is that anyone in the front has strong attacks, but they get hit harder and more often.  Players in the back have more defense, but less offense.  It affects their speed and other stats as well.

RIME is pretty awesome.  You might want to have a tissue ready at the ending, though.

Right now I'm playing a really awesome game on my PS4 called Ys 8.

Cutie Q, which is in the same vein as Gee Bee and Bomb Bee, is on Namco Museum Remix on Wii and I think Namco Museum Virtual Arcade on 360.

Interesting thing about Cutie Q is that it was made by the same guy who made Pac-Man: Toru Iwatani.  He said that one of the things that inspired him when creating the Pac-Man characters was an anime and manga that he grew up with called Q Taro.  Look up some images of that and you can see what he meant.  But I think it also inspired Cutie Q as well.

How do you Zelda?

Breath of the Wild is about middle of the road to me.  It's not one of my favorites, but not one of my least favorites either.  I will say this, as much as I may not like some of the changes to this Zelda game, I have to say it's exactly what the series needed right now.  It's like Mega Man X.  I prefer the original Mega Man, but the first X game is exactly what the series needed at the time to keep from becoming too stale.

My favorite Zelda game is Link's Awakening, too!  I also like Link to the Past, original NES Zelda, and Link Between Worlds.  So yeah, I like the 2-D top down Zeldas a lot.

Make sure to read my review to see if you'll like the quirks of the game or not.

OK Mr. Impatient (just joking with you).  :)  Here's my review of Romancing SaGa 2 Remastered.  I wasn't going to post a link to it until I did my next review blog, but for you, I'll post it now.

Breath of the Wild is big big big big big.  I would play it depending on how much time I had.  If I could play it for a long time, I'd tackle the big robot elephant and camel guys, but if I had a short time to play it, I would just run around finding shrines all over the place.  Even though I had problems with the game, I played it for 60 hours and finished it, so I must've liked it somewhat.  It's definitely the 2nd hardest Zelda game I've ever played (the first being Zelda 2), especially at the beginning.  My favorite thing to do in the game was cook.  I would make Link cook everything and then eat it.  He should've been as big as a house by the time he saved Zelda.

Oh man, how can you fire up a Taito Legends game and only play one game on it?  I know you're just doing 1979 titles, but still.  Taito is so awesome.  Glad they're still around in some form or fashion.

I can't remember which Namco games came out in 1978 or 1979, but I guess you'll maybe be playing Galaxian or Gee Bee/Bomb Bee/Cutie Q?

Sometimes the humor was funny, but other times it was too nonsensical and absurd to make any sense.  If you enjoyed Hat in Time, I strongly suggest you look into Psychonauts, as it does everything Hat in Time tries to do much better.  Psychonauts was my Game of the Year back in 2005.

Supposedly it's a sequel to an Apple TV game they made called Beat Sports.  Thanks for reading!
