I've been playing for 7.5 hours so far and it looks like I'm at the big boss. I think Ive found all the quests and secrets but I intend to poke around some more. The character design is similar to 4 heroes of light. I don't mind it actually. The ninja skin is really cool.
It can really hand you your ass if you aren't prepared. The further in you go the more strategy is required.
It's mostly for running around the town. Dungeons fare a little better on the small screen.

You can level up pretty quickly in the cave.

I hated my first experience with turn based combat and random encounters. It was a little game called Final Fantasy VII. LOL. It took me a while but I eventually got into it.
Do you have the DS Golden Sun or one of the older ones. I enjoyed the DS game quite a bit but there's definitely a few things to learn in order to use your "pokemon" properly.
I keep trying to take a break from my 3DS but it keeps pulling me back in.
I'm sure there are a few of us condemned to go blind here. :)
It's around 1800 blocks so it's fairly large. Didn't take me that long to download though.
