Plumbing Reviews!

Posted on 03/31/2023 at 09:13 AM | Filed Under Blogs

No you don't need it.  Hope you liked my April Fools blog.  I haven't done one of those in a long time.  I wasn't in a joking mood for a couple of years there thanks to the pandemic and my mom's breast cancer scare.  I DO work in the plumbing section of a major hardware chain, though.

Do you remember the PlayStation Underground demo discs?  I loved those.  They usually had lots of game demos, video interviews and such, and maybe even a demo of a Japan only game or a super simple full game.

E3 is DWI...

As someone who has gone to E3s off and on since 1997, I really hate this news.  I know people say videos and such are replacing this sort of show, but trust me, nothing will replace actually being there to try the games, speaking to the developers and PR folks in person, and so on.

I don't play and review as many mobile games as I used to.  I recently published a review of one called Devolver Tumble Time, which is a puzzle game featuring characters from other Devolver Digital games.  And there's another one waiting to be published called Ace Angler: Fishing Spirits M.  It's by Namco and was originally an arcade game.  They're both free if you want to try them.  And of course on my iPad, I still play the mobile versions of Animal Crossing and Mario Kart.

Today is Star Fox's 30th Anniversary!

When Star Fox first came out, my friend told me he saw it on display and said I had to get it.  Well I trusted him and got it and it was pretty amazing looking for the time.

I got Star Fox 64 because my college roommate's girlfriend wanted to play it so she bought it to play on my N64, but then she never wanted it back so I got it by default.  Having all those voices was pretty groundbreaking back then.

Star Fox Assault was made by Namco and was an interesting take.  I'm glad that Star Fox 2 made it on the SNES Mini.  And I don't think Star Fox Adventures is THAT bad.  But Star Fox as a whole isn't one of my favorite Nintendo series.

I don't think we'll see another Star Fox for a while.  The last one they did, Star Fox Zero, was one of the worst Nintendo games ever made, I thought.

Well the best way to keep track of things is to listen to what I say and play what I tell you to. :) Just joking!

It's not that bad at all and I think it's well worth the 20 bucks.  And I usually don't say that for downloadable titles.

I've found that enemies that are fun to beat in games have some sort of satifying sound that goes along with it.  Like stomping on Goombas in classic Mario games.  Or chomping ghosts in Pac-Man.
