I would love to get the PS1 game. I saw it once at a store and it was going for a hundred bucks!

I think this game is impossible without save states.
The levels are a good length, padded perhaps by the fighting and the puzzles. I just love the whole concept, and how each level is a specific theme.
lol yeah, that's really frustrating. I don't blame you.
Exactly, especially since they only give you one life!
I'm hoping to pick up the MM Zero/ZX Collection soon because I've never played any of those games, but I hear they're really great. Right now I'm playing through a bunch of Genesis games on the Genesis Mini.
I actually have the NES cart of this, but yeah, it's nearly unplayable by today's standards. However, I really enjoyed the GBA port and was able to play through most the game. The first FF was certainly forward-thinking and helped to change the landscape of RPGs for the better. I much prefer the FF series to DQ.
Give it a try. This game is bursting with lots of weirdness.
Chaotic is a good word for it. Treasure games are very interesting because they tend to really think outside the box. I think my personal favorite Treasure game would be Gunstar Heroes.
That would be wonderful! It's insane to think that we as kids would play these kind of tough as nails games, but that's all we had.
