Special: E3 2015: The Phantom Hololens

It really depends on how much you spend and what you want to do. I started using my laptop mic. Eventually I bought this handy little mic from Samson : http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001R76D42/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1435414083&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&keywords=samson+go+mic&dpPl=1&dpID=41PnZwr0rWL&ref=plSrch

I recently upgraded to a Yeti Snowball. I got a swivel mic stand that I mounted to my desk and a pop filter. I like the sound better, but I have to sit very close to it because the gain of the mic is a little lower. I also take it over to John Gholson's house when we record Slam Masters in the same room together, and I find it to be very versatile.

Thanks for all the kind words about the audio, folks! We have been trying to get this thing to work for the past, oh, 5 episodes or so not counting the E3 specials, and there has always been a wrinkle. I think we finally have the kinks worked out, though, so look forward to our shows sounding like this moving forward!

Yeah, in episode 73 I was talking about "retiring" from following the industry hardcore. Between writing my own fanzine in high school, working gaming retail for almost a decade, and following the podcast and writing scene ever since I feel like I'm starting to get a little jaded. So I look to E3 to rejuvinate myself, and I think you can tell from the sound of my voice in this episode that I am pretty pumped about the future!

You caused me to try and outdo myself for tonight's show. You'll have to tell me if I succeeded. Also, I hope this episode listens alright. I didn't get to give it the normal love and attention that I normally do in editing.

I might play around with that. I had started by using the deck helper where it has you pick from 3 cards and helps you build based on having a good selection of mana from low to high level. It's been quite frustrating!

Episode 72: Endless Forms Most Beautiful

Metal Gear IS really good! I love that you've gone back recently to discover two of my favorite PSX/PS2 era franchises: Resident Evil and this. I still can't really say which MGS is my favorite. I've played MGS 1 the most. MGS 2, while I loved it at the time and still love Kojima's sheer balls to REMOVE the main character from the game only 2 hours in, I don't care for the final act very much. MGS 3 is the slowest to start for me (I literally began that game about 5 times before I finally got into it), but has some of my all-time favorite moments in the series. MGS 4 MAY be my favorite, but I have not played it since 2008.

I will need to look into Sabaton more. It's such an interesting idea, a band having this very specific niche. Sort of like Alestorm with their pirate gimmick.
