I got my Dreamcast not on launch day, but at the Christmas right after it.  It was a surprise, too, because I didn't ask for it.  But I'm glad I got it because I was still reviewing games for the newspaper at the time and it really helped.  The Dreamcast was my first SEGA console and really upped my respect for the company.

Some of my favorites include Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Space Channel 5, Crazy Taxi, Samba de Amigo (still have the maraca controlellers under my bed), Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Cannon Spike, Soul Calibur, and many more!

Even though the N64 is what caused me to buy a PlayStation, I still really liked the N64.  Some of my favorites include Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, the Zelda games, the Banjo-Kazooie games, Kirby 64, Tetrisphere, and many more!

I really wanted to like Chained Echoes, but the battles were just too hard.  It wore me out after a while!

The PlayStation was my first non-Nintendo console (well aside from the Atari 5200).  The N64 was great and all, but it didn't have enough games on it and I was reviewing games for the newspaper at the time.  So even though I couldn't really afford it, I bought a PlayStation and that was one of the best gaming purchases I ever made.  After that I was reviewing games left and right.  The PlayStation is my 2nd favorite game console.  I do have that smaller PSOne model, too.  It's no bigger than a Scholtzky's sandwich!

The SNES is my favorite game console.  That's all I have to say.

I wanted them all, too, just couldn't afford it.

Wolfenstein seemed especially popular where I live because I live in the same area as the people who made it!

My dad LOVES the Myst games.

I never had a Genesis as a kid, as I was on the SNES side.  But that was a good side to be on for my tastes in games back then.  My only experiences with the Genesis back then was playing it at friends' houses and on demo kiosks.  It was mostly just Sonic, though, so I wasn't that impressed.  Luckily in college when I dabbled in emulation I discovered a lot better Genesis games, like Gaiares and Crusade of Centy.  And now there are lots of Genesis collections that have all sorts of good games, like Ristar, Phantasy Star 4, and the Streets of Rage games.

After our Apple II+, I didn't touch another Apple Mac computer until I was in college.  The Magazine Journalism computer labs used Macs instead of IBM PCs because they were better at print publishing somehow.  Took a bit of getting used to.  

Remember those multicolored, round Macs they sold in computer stores everywhere in the mid to late 90s?

I actually didn't get a NES right away.  I was happy enough playing Pengo on my 5200.  Even when my friend got a NES, I enjoyed playing Super Mario Bros. at his house, but it wasn't enough to get me to want to buy one.  I actually first played Super Mario Bros. in an arcade anyway.  But as soon as Zelda came out, I got one after seeing it at my friend's house.  I was impressed you could save the game and come back to it later.  So from then on out, I pretty much only played the NES, only to dabble in PC gaming peridoically to play point and click adventures and later on, Lemmings.
