Truth be told, I had exposure to Galaga first before Galaxian. I didn't about Galaxian until Namco Museum vol. 3 on the PlayStation.

Thanks for the background info on the curtain opening sequence. If that is indeed true, it would make perfect sense. I never really questioned why the game boots up to an opening curtain, but I like that idea.
Hey thanks man! Yes, I think it's great that the greatness of SMB3 and SMW are still hotly debated. Personally, I think both can coexist peacefully. One game informs the other in terms of characters. Obviously, SMB3 has more power-ups and sorta feels like a longer game. But on the other hand, Super Mario World felt bigger and allowed you to save your game so didn't have to start over every time. Of course, the ability to save at any point in both games on the Switch makes that last point moot.
Wow, I knew about the Doki Doki Panic connection. However, I didn't know that it was originally intended to be a Mario game. Sounds like some Inception stuff if you ask me.
Naw, not sacrilege in my book man. There's too much variety on Earth for everyone to like the same games to same the degree as another person. Actually, I think it's great you like SMB 2 the most. It's a classic in its own right.
I'm with you Cary- Mega Man 3 is my favorite above MM2 too. But yeah, MM2 really brings it in just about every aspect. Its status as an NES classic is well-deserved.
I've actually never play Crazy Castle. I hear it's pretty frustrating and a waste of the Looney Toons license.
I wonder the same thing regarding if Snoopy's Magic Show existed under a different license in other countries too, especially since nothing about the game is unique to the Peanuts comic except for appearances from Spike and Woodstock. Otherwise, you could swap them out with any characters and nothing would be lost.
However, it seems that Kemcvo always intended to make this a Snoopy-themed game since the same game exists in Japan and Europe as well. They made a Game Boy sequel to this, but it was only in Japan.
Yeah, some of my favorite moments as a kid was watching my brother play games like Mega Man or Marvel vs. Capcom has he explained the details of each character. That's how I got to know more about most of the principal characters in the Marvel universe back then.
I loved the Fantasy Zone trilogy on the Master System. I think I still have all three games.
