I have newspaper clippings of all my articles at The Dallas Morning News. Some of them you can still find online if you dig around. I think my really old GamerDad articles are/were archived at "WhatTheyPlay."
I remember Puchi Carat! It was like a cross between Arkanoid and Puzzle Bobble. Taito rocks!
1999 was the start of a great time for me reviewing games. I was high on the hog at The Dallas Morning News and was picking out artwork as well as writing the articles, and many of them got a splash feature on the front page of the technology section. It was a great time.
There's something really cool that happens in September. :)
Horizon Chase looks interesting. Do you know who publishes it?
I saw that Grandia game at PAX this past weekend. I think it was at...GungHo's booth?
Back when they killed off Superman, I think they only did that so they could sell four times as many comic books.
My friend was really into Superman comics back then and I thought about renting this so we could play it, but it never happened. Either the store didn't have it or it was always rented out.
I kinda liked the Taito Superman arcade game. :)
Yeah indie games can be neat, but they're far from perfect sometimes.
I don't know if I should get a PS4 or Xbox One first. But right now I'm pretty happy with the Wii U/3DS/iPad. Having the new systems would help with reviewing games, though.
I saw a little bit of Dragon Quest Heroes at PAX this past weekend. I got a Slime fan and they had a wall of bubble wrap with Slime stickers that you could pop. Later this week you can check out pictures on the GamerDad.com site!
Dreamcast didn't come out here in the US until 9/9/1999. I got one for Christmas/Graduation present.
