Pre-Gaming

I liked Zodiac.  Haven't seen it for years, but I've been thinking of buying the bluray.  I like Fincher's later films, which aren't as stylish and are slow burns.  I like slow movies.

My favorite game is either Final Fantasy IX, for its beautiful world and great story and characters, or KOTOR 2, which I think is one of the deepest philosophical experiences I have ever had in any medium.

Damn Blake, it's Monday there huh. You guys are living in the future.

4 is cool because you can also fly around in this airship.  it's a neat little addition to the gameplay.

yeah it's funny, when you're a kid you kind of don't know what's bad or not.  I used to play Ikari Warriors endlessly, for instance.  Laughing

it's looks like a Zelda 2 clone.  I saw on Twitter Indie Gamer Chick gave it a good review, and it had good reviews on Steam too.  I dunno.  Might check it out.

I've just been playing Life Is Strange.  That's a cool game.  Got lost in it for a while.

phew, I missed this one when I was a kid.  Maybe that was a good thing!  It reminds me of Russian Attack in a way, another middling game.  Still, I'd play it once or twice.

I was looking at that game Super Win today.  Kind of looks cool.

Pre-BaD Day -1: An Ode to Joystiq and Massively ;_;

Posted on 01/31/2015 at 11:40 PM | Filed Under Blogs

this is interesting.  You've brought up a lot of good points, and while I didn't follow JOystiq, my experience with their closing so far has been pro-gamergate people considering it a victory.  but your point of view seems a lot saner, and probably is more close to the truth.

I didn't know about Massively, but it seemed like a good site.  I think the thing is, gaming media is pretty damn corrupt, and it certainly doesn't pay that well to be a gaming "journalist", so i think aside from a few big sites, there's not going to be a lot of voices except for the blogosphere. Which, honestly, is ok with me, because I trust the news more from my friends here on pixlbit more than i do from the big sites.

Good blog man.  I feel like I learned something from it.
