I, for one, will not mourn the loss of snaking, but I understand your argument. I also never viewed snaking as 'cheating.' It's part of the game, and required a fair amount of skill.

I also don't really think you'll ever be able to relive that experience you described. It sounded like a lot of it hinged on rediscovering the game with the new exploit your discovered. The next game, you immediately tried playing it the same way you had previously learned, so it's not like you missed out on discovering something new, they just removed what you had previously discovered. In other words, the chances of rediscovering another way to play another Mario Kart game in the same way is just very improbable.

I don't want to steal the comments away from the actual game you reviewed, but does Deathsmiles suffer from the same um... style issues as Otomedius? The box art left me a little worried. I don't really have a problem with Japanese style, but it does get a little ridiculous sometimes.

Thanks Jesse. I live in NY, so this may just justify taking the kids for a little trip to the Nintendo World store in Manhattan. I'm sure they won't complain.

Now my wife on the other hand....

Anyway, this also kindles my hope for the Last Story. Those and Skyword Sword will probably finish up my wii collection.

Seriously, unless I cheat and use an emulator with save states, that's the ONLY way to do the hell blocks part.

Exclusive? I didn't see that on the official release page on Nintendo's website. Gamestop might have just paid them to put that link there for pre-order.

I imagine Amazon would have a thing or two to say about if all those pre-orders they got for the game suddenly became useless!
