Always wondered about the Lost Planet series. I don't mind shooters, just not a fan of FPS. I can't say I'm any good at them, but i usually get some enjoyment for a while.
I will admit to being a hoarder when it comes to my old systems. Mostly because I never entirely trust "backwards capability". Ditto my CRT TV. But what I really need to do is go through all the boxes of stuff I had at my grandmothers and organize or get rid of things so I can set up a retro game corner in my tiny abode.
I tend to lose track of time when I game, too. Especially if I'm playing a game with an exceptionally good story or an environment that I can spend time exploring. Maybe I'd better not try Minecraft again...

Ya know, I'm feeling kind of left out, I don't own a single console that plays any of the games you're talking about. Going to go cry into a nice glass of single malt now.
I... Have absolutely nothing to say in the matter, because I haven't bought a Nintendo console since the GameCube. I do have a 3DS, but that's only because Snee didn't want me to feel left out and sent me his old one. I have all of four games for it and I've had it for over a year.
Never got into Minecraft, but my nephew was for a long time.
