Spring Training Reviews

Well there's already ghosts in Pac-Man, so a horror game wouldn't be too far off.  Maybe they can make it be Pac-Man's take on Luigi's Mansion?

Kirby and the Forgotten Land may earn high marks in my GOTY blogs.  But we'll have to see how Pac-Man Museum+ turns out!  I just got a Kirby shopping bag from the Club Nintendo web site!

I've been reading about Namco changing Ms. Pac-Man to be Pac-Mom, too.  It's crazy.  You'd think Namco and ATGames could come to an agreement.

Retro Review: Mario Golf (N64)

There wasn't a Mario Golf game on the Wii at all, strangely enough.  Guess Nintendo didn't want to self cannibalize Wii Sports.

Did you know that in the Capcom published Camelot Wii game We Love Golf, you could unlock outfits for the players based on Capcom characters.  You could dress them as Ryu, Chun-Li, Apollo Justice, and even Zack from Zack & Wiki!

I wasn't really impressed with Taito Milestones.  We were spoiled on the PS2 with Taito Legends 1 and 2, which had nearly triple the games on each one!

You know Pac-Man had arms and legs in the original arcade artwork for Pac-Man, right?  And if he didn't have arms and legs, we wouldn't have such great games like Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures and Pac-Man World.  But then, the really good Pac-Man games are him just being a ball, like Pac-Man Arrangment, Pac-Mania, and Pac-Man Championship Edition.  All of which are going to be on Pac-Man Museum+.

Thanks for reading!

New List for Spring 2022

Oh you know I'm excited for Pac-Man Museum+!  I'll definitely write a blog about it when it comes out.  I like that it's getting physical versions, too.

I'd like to get the Chrono Cross remaster, but the only thing that interests me in it is the inclusion of Radical Dreamers, a text adventure that was only on the Super Famicom satellite service in Japan.  Chrono Cross is really more of a sequel to that than it is Chrono Trigger.

The new LEGO Star Wars game is one of the few LEGO games I didn't get a chance to review!  I'll probably wait and ask for it for my birthday or Christmas.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is very good.  It's not my favorite Kirby game, but if HAL's first attempt at a 3D Kirby game turned out this well, the future of 3D Kirby is VERY promising!

Retro Review: Mario Golf (N64)

I skipped out on the N64 Mario Golf, but I sure did get into the GameCube one: Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.  I liked the 3DS and Switch Mario Golf games, but they're no where near as good as that GameCube one.  Camelot made a lot of other non-Mario golf games, too.  They made one for Capcom on the Wii called We Love Golf, for instance.

Episode 221: We Don't Talk About SOPFFO

I'll vote for Super Mario Odyssey.  It's not my favorite 3-D Mario game, but it's still pretty good.  And it got a cereal that you can scan as an amiibo, how cool is that?  Sorry Chrono Cross, you didn't get a cereal.

Speaking of cereal, I have a lot of fond memories of Chex Quest because I reviewed it for The Dallas Morning News back in the day as a joke and didn't expect them to publish it.  But they did anyway and I got a lot of positive feedback for it.  But even so, Tetris still wins.  It's one of my top three favorite puzzle games alongside Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo and Puzzle Bobble.  Speaking of which, I'd better fire up the Switch this weekend and play Tetris 99 a bunch so I can get that Kirby and the Forgotten Land skin!

Don't forget to listen to my podcast, too, when you get a chance!

No I can't really remember.  Sorry.  Like the bombs, I know you have to have a captured ship to make it work.  I just don't remember what buttons to press.

Twilight Princess was WAY better on Wii U than it was on the Wii.
