Episode 43: Where Do Wii Go From Here?

Posted on 12/05/2011 at 04:47 PM | Filed Under Feature

@Michael117 While I understand your opinions on the Wii, you still missed out on some great games. The Galaxy games and NSMBWii are some of the best, and Skyward Sword is amazing. Sin &Punishment 2 as well. If you buy a WiiU, you can be guaranteed that the games will be backward compatible.

But your thoughts on Motion Control however are closed minded in a tiny sense. Motion controls added to games like S&P2 and Metroid Prime 3. Sure, waggle and stuff, but thanks to the 3DS Nintendo struck gold with how to make gyroscopic aiming work AND still appealing to people used to traditional controls. OoT 3D had fantastic aiming, as does SM3DLand.

I just hope third parties actually make use of these features if they plan to put shooters on the WiiU. Right analog aiming is horrid.

Key Titles Missing From PSP/Vita Transfer Program

Posted on 12/05/2011 at 04:24 PM | Filed Under News

I'm just going to let all of you PixlBit readers know I bought the 3DS at launch and I love it, because it can play my DS games no problem. The fact my PSP UMDs are useless with the Vita is absolutely horrible.

Yes, backward compatibility is that much of a decider for me. I still play old games you know.

UPDATE: Digital Vita Games Will Come With Deep Discount

It just seems this generation's handheld console launches are being plagued with problems. Nintendo at this point is going to have the upper hand however (at the moment). Reasons being:

- Back catalog of DS library isn't useless and most titles can be found for dirt cheap. Games requiring button control can be played with the Slide Pad.

- Triple A titles are finally arriving. More due in early 2012, and thanks to Mario the 3DS will have a more established user base.

- DSiWare titles downloaded on the DSi can be transferred for free.

- While the eShop is still a black eye on Nintendo's spotless UI 3DS design, the promised interface updates should fix these problems. Smartphone and online purchasing coming in 2012 should help make the eShop come into its own.

I'm not writing this in order to trash the Vita. Nintendo did things wrong with the launch of the 3DS, but they are making amends. Sony seems to be doing their best in keeping me from buying a Vita though. The fact my UMDs are useless and Sony requires me to pay them for having my titles on the Vita is just fucking stupid. Backward compatibility folks, its not hard to do. (hi Microsoft)

Nintendo to Hold Another 3DS Press Event Friday

Calling a system redesign. Price = $189.99.

Ambassadors get it for free. Heh, Nintendo was probably paying attention to my Tweets to them.

Other guesses: background downloads for eShop, new Star Fox, new eShop titles.

Happy Birthday you 64-bit monster you!

But just because you are fifteen doesn't mean I will automatically like Super Mario 64.

Why the Wii Has Poor Third Party Support

I kind of miss the era when Nintendo of America forced third parties to only make a few games a year.

Why the Wii Has Poor Third Party Support

Haha yes, the Wall of Shame already answered part of our discussion. Third parties are part of the problem, but there are many others surrounding it.

WiiU getting ports instead of new games. HAHA third party support.

Third party delaying their games to 2012 and giving Nintendo free run of the holidays. HAHA third party support.

hahahahaha
