They are quite relaxing. I tend to go for the thrill and kill type of games, but every now and then you need to relax with something like Mario Golf.

They're all pretty solid games, but the later ones were able to build on the original.

Well, they have to be simple so everyone can understand them. Later games in the series, such as MP7 on GCN, have some really great mini-games. Most agree that MP2 is the best in the series.
