I’m not sure 30 minute cutscenes are particularly well suited for portable play, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
It wasn’t long ago that we saw the release of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Previews Editor, Julian Titus, was able to take the title for a spin and his review clearly indicated that this is a great collection of games. The same holds true here, but there have been a few changes in its transition to the PlayStation Vita.
Available now for the PlayStation Vita.
Snake's second and third outing will be portable this summer.
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was originally released this past November for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It contained remastered versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. A Vita version of the collection was officially announced earlier this past March and now the release date has been revealed.
This is a nearly-perfect HD collection of two of the best games in the Metal Gear series. Oh, and Peace Walker is in there, too.
With HD collections of our favorite games of the past becoming a regular occurrence, we here at PixlBit have been trying to decide how best to cover them. When reviewing an HD remake, do we do a normal critique of the original game? Do we evaluate the quality of the HD conversion and special features? Or is the answer found with a little of column “A” and a little of column “B”? Well, I’m going to try a little experiment with this review of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, and hopefully you wonderful readers will let us know if this format works well for you.
Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, all in HD, all in one collection.
