PixlTalk Episode 3: The Show in Toky-o

Jason Hillhouse steps in to tell us a bit about Tokyo Game Show 2009 and Japan in general.

This week the PixlTalk crew is graced by the presence of special guest, Jason Hillhouse, a close personal friend of Nick and Chessa.

In the first half, Jason tells us about iDOLM@STER DS and why it has swept Japan. Lauren discusses Deca Sports 2, particularly how it stacks up to Wii Sports and who should look into it. Chessa runs down Kingdom Hearts: Ridiculous Subtitle, Neal goes in-depth on Dead Space: Extraction, and Nick closes the segment with a drawn out explanation of Persona on PSP.

In the second segment Jason shares his TGS experience and a couple fun stories and we close the show with some news.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
