PixlTalk Episode 72: The Death of the Tri-Force

Not a hoax! Not a dream! This episode, a PixlTalk crew dies!

It’s the end of the Tri-Force as we know it! That’s right, this is the final PixlTalk hosted by Julian, Rob, and Patrick. Stay tuned at the end of the episode for the official announcement of our new show, Nerds Without Pants.

We don’t leave you on a sour note, though. We talk about sooo many games, including Lollipop Chainsaw, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Apple Jack 2, and Julian’s reaction to  the Mass Effect 3 ending, three months late.

Then we move into the sequel to the Popcast! In that episode, we talked about pop culture properties we’d like to see turned into games. This time around, we talk about  games we’d like to see move into other forms of media. Just like Professor Zoom, the Reverse Flash, we present you with the Reverse Popcast. Julian and Rob have some sensible ideas when compared to the insanity that Patrick comes up with, considering that his ideas are harmful to children, adults, the elderly, and stunted monkeys. Also: Statham Sightings(tm)!

We’ve had a blast bringing you our version of PixlTalk. Look forward to the new incarnation of the show, and come back for the first episode of our new PixlBit podcast: Nerds Without Pants.

The Tri-Force is dead. Long live Nerds Without Pants!

Featured Music:

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts-Cherry Bomb

The Dickies: Banana Splits (Kick-Ass film version)

Perfect write-up for this one, Julian. My love for you is a ticking clock.

Excellent job guys lol. It might have gone off the rails but I was thoroughly entertained and I'm not just patronizing you. You covered a lot of ground and by the end I couldn't remember everything I wanted to comment on, but I was entertained all the way through without a doubt. Classic episode, great topic, lots of laughs, lots of hey-ohh's tossed around, and I'm glad to spend the hours listening.

It's bittersweet seeing the Tri-Force title absolved, but I like Nerd Without Pants as well and I'll be here for the new shows. I still remember those first shows when Jules showed up on the Hellblock Heroes crew to ease into the podcasts before he was given the helm of his own crew. There's a lot of reasons why I love this gaming nook, and lots of reasons why I nestle in here proudly, listen to your podcasts, and interact, but at the end of the day the reasons always have to be distilled back to the three of you. You're great. You have been since the first episode, you were this week, and will be as NWP. Before the sap gets too squishy, just know that you're doing a good job, the work is appreciated, and take your pants off.

You humble me, sir. I'm glad you've stuck with us and enjoy what we do. I think our podcast influences are pretty obvious, but we've been steadily finding our own groove, and I can't wait to unleash the new shows we have planned.

I've got to ask...what do you think of Statham Sightings? Funny, or too much?

Statham Sightings lol? It's pretty funny. I liked Crank and Transporter, I have nothing against the Statham.

Michael, the best fan so far! Thanks for the kind words again. I don't know what Julian is talking about us having obvious influences, because I don't even listen to other podcasts. We are at least 50 percent original, assuming that each of them is part original.

I am sad to have broken off as part of the Triforce, but it should be something much bigger. Something inside my shorts. Something made of whatever a Triforce is made out of. Gold?

I may have been a little excited on this episode with talk about the future and everything.

In Canada, Panache means anters.

Panache deserves a capital letter for the man it references in this episode.
