Why am I the only one being singled out here?!? Anyone who's ever watched one of our marathons can surely vouch that I'm not the only one with a foul mouth. Plus, I only curse when I get mad. *hmph*
Halloween Horror
Join us starting (Today!) Friday, October 23 at 6PM EST for a Halloween-themed weekend marathon.
For those of you who come from Nintendo World Report, you probably know about the marathons held by myself and Chessa. In our first marathon we conquered a number of titles in the Legend of Zelda series. For our second marathon we took on Metroid Prime Trilogy pre-release.
Now that we've settled into our marathon groove, we're back for our third marathon. This time, in celebration of Halloween, we'll be holding a weekend marathon focused squarely on survival horror.
We'll be inviting a few of our friends, including Jason Hillhouse (Featured on PixlTalk Episode 3) who will be accompanying us for the entirety of the marathon.
You can look forward to the following titles:
Resident Evil (GameCube)
Eternal Darkness (GameCube) - Subbed in for Silent Hill due to fan outcry.
Fatal Frame III: The Tormented (PS2)
We'll be attacking these titles in the order listed, and will hopefully get through all of them, though we make no promises. We're also open to suggestions, so if there is something you'd rather see us play, let us know in the comments section below.
Similar to past marathons, we'll be doing some trivia and giveaways, so stay tuned for details on participation.
Also, this time we'll be doing it for charity. While the content we're providing isn't particularly suitable for children, your donations certainly are. St. Jude Children's Hospital has been helping kids for many years now in a variety of different ways. The researchers there have found cures to diseases and offer treatment to all patients without regard to the family's ability to pay. PixlBit wants you to give a few dollars for the sake of the institution and sick children all around the world.
If you do decide to make a donation, please do so here. Because we aren't funneling any of the donations through our system, if you make a donation, and wouldn't mind sharing with us your total contribution, we'd greatly appreciate it (broadcast AT pixlbit DOT com). We'll be listing the total amount donated on the site and even your name, if you so please.
Now for the rest of the details. I urge everyone who has an interest in participating to download Skype. It's how we will handle on-air communication, and it's totally free. We'll be taking calls the whole time we are playing and hopefully we'll be able to strike up some interesting conversations about the games we're playing and other titles in the survival horror genre!
For those not interested in interacting via Skype, please make sure you join us in the chat. We'll be reading what you guys have to say, and even answering questions as you pose them. Additionally, we'll be taking your advice when we get stuck, so stick around and make sure we don't mess up.
Protocol to call in is as follows:
First send a chat message to the handle nintend0nick (that's a zero in there). I will then initiate the call from my machine and I will broadcast our call live. We can talk about anything (Video Game or Site Related, of course), just use the initial chat message to describe the topic of the call. Also, make sure you turn down your sound, echo makes us sad :(.
Formal Schedule to Follow
Warning: We have a tendency to curse like sailors (especially Chessa) so please (please!) don't be offended! We're warning you ahead of time, see the red text!
