Mailbag Has Been Revived

Zombie mailbag wants your brains. (In a good way.)

Avid fans of PixlBit (Read: Zap) may have noticed I've mentioned the idea of a solo podcast a few times in the past month. While at first, the idea was uncertain, as time passes, it seems to be more and more of a sure thing. How does Mailbag relate? I want to read and respond to listener mail! That's right. I want listener mail! I know the podcast hasn't yet begun, but it will soon, so why not get a head-start? You could be featured. You could be featured in the first edition of "JasonCast" or "PixlJalk," or whatever we decide to name the thing. How about, for the first episode, you send in suggestions for the title of the show? As always, suggestions can go to mailbag AT pixlbit DOT com, but in this case, they can also be sent to jasonr AT pixlbit DOT com, too.

Remember, you can use the "Contact" selection under the "About" to send an email, as well, but why not have the both the mailbag's and my email at hand, just in case?

You're going to drain the life out of Mr Mailbag for your own self-aggrandizement

Have you no decency, sir

I don't know [laughter]

What kind of mail questions or topics would you like?

Well, for the first podcast, I was thinking about used games, since Penny-Arcade and THQ has revived the discussion lately, it seems. I'll probably devote a serious amount of time to that topic.

It's come to this. Jason likes talking so much, he's created a podcast wherein he talks to himself. Jason will never get a word in edgewise.

Finally, someone understands me.

Blindfoldedly buying a used game for discussion? Like that?

No, I mean I'd like opinions on the buying and selling of used games and what it means towards the video game industry. Additionally, I'd also like opinions on how people feel about methods used by companies to prevent the buying and selling of used games.

As luck would have it, our email stuff is borked for the day. I don't know if any messages sent to me were received. If you do decide to send in any mail, for now, until I update, send it to the mailbag address, please.

The Mailbalrog has turned on the very site that birthed it! Run!

I will continue to try to think of something to send in.

By the way, I think ^that discussion has already been done on a previous podcast.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
