Kinect Booth Spotted at Local Mall

While meandering through Citrus Park Mall in Florida, Chessa and I spotted a Kinect Booth complete with games.

Shortly after E3 this year, reports started coming in that Kinect would be making its way to select malls across America. Fortunately for those in Tampa, Florida, a booth was set-up at Citrus Park Mall.

The booth, depicted below, featured a total of four stations to play games at, which were all accompanied by a helpful attendant from Microsoft.

Two of the four stations showed off Kinect Sports, specifically Bowling and Beach Volleyball. Kinect Joy Ride was available for play on one of the other stations. Directly outside of each play area, a second TV was set-up so that bystanders could see exactly what was going on clearly without someone directly in their frame-of-view.

Most people playing seemed to be enjoying themselves, particularly with the last title being shown, Dance Central from Harmonix.

Everyone who decided to give Kinect a try was able to take home a free green lanyard with both Microsoft and Kinect's logo printed on it, as well as a promotional card featuring the URL for Kinect's website on Xbox.com.

The booth as a whole was quite inviting with its smooth curves, soft colors, and cozy rooms to play the games in. Overall, it was similar to Microsoft's E3 booth on the show floor.

Check out the video below to get a clear look at the booth. Kinect will be available on November 4 in North America, as will Kinect Sports, Kinect Joy Ride, and Dance Central.

That's exciting news. I might contact the Oaks Mall and local GameStops to see if there's any plans for anything. Not that the Oaks Mall compares to the one there, Citrus Park.

Dance Central is easily the most exciting Kinect game, too. I'm glad to see people were paying the most attention to it. Seems like a good first effort for Kinect marketing to me.

This is a good idea from Microsoft. By giving the general populace an idea of what to buy for the holidays.

I just realized the Kinects weren't set up in... Bubbles!

I've only seen Kinect in bubbles before. Good to see they're bursting that idea.
