Somewhere in this house I'm pretty sure I still have a casette tape loaded with music from Faxanadu, Link's Awakening, Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasy III.

It's nice Angelo's enjoying Doom3 BFG edition, I haven't grabbed that quite yet but I plan on it. The BFG edition also comes with the huge Resurection of Evil expansion of Doom 3 doesn't it? I've played through Doom 3 and RoE multiple times each and liked them both. RoE is good, in some ways I enjoy it even more than the vanilla game.

The expansion adds a version of the gravity gun from Half Life 2 and you have some puzzles and combat you can do with it like you would in HL2. It also adds a double barrel shotgun that's suppose to be reminiscent of the shotgun from Doom II. Last time I played the expansion was a while ago but I remember that shotgun being pretty great. It usually kills most enemies in one shot.

Speaking of East Texas, which is where I'm getting my Master's and you didn't even say hi (Death stare, Julian. Death stare), have you seen the movie Bernie? 

I liked Man of Steel ok. The action was good, but ... y'know I'm not starting this again. 

I've had a couple girl friends tell me Aquaman is awesome in the comics. I have only known the stigma against him too, but I want to like him, cause he seems so hated by the general public, yet so loved by people who actually read his comics. 

As for Robin Williams, I actually don't like the clips they show of his early days, but I did really like his Broadway stand-up, which is pretty dated now. But when you say you "grew out" of him, I assume you mean his comedy? Cause I still find his dramatic roles top notch. I watched a dark comedy he did called World's Greatest Dad on Netflix the day he died and ... let's just say the theme and main event of that movie were both the best and worst thing I could have watched in a way. It was interesting how the interviews he did for that one were all about how we mythologize people when they die ... Another movie he did that becomes both highly and not-so-highly appropriate due to how we went is What Dreams May Come. Beautiful movie. I have Good Morning Vietnam cued up in Netflix. I'd say it's his most talked about role, but I've never seen it. As for Genie, I still think of Robin Williams as that character, because I never really heard much of the Homer Simpson actor doing the voice after the original movie. Apparently, Williams hated that Disney made Genie into a marketable toy thing against his wishes. He had somewhat of a verbal contract with them, but since nothing was written down, his relationship with Disney was ugly for a while. 

Speaking of which, I'll come back for Angelo's Disney Adventure. 

I will be talking more about East Texas next time, because John Gholson is from there, and I need to ask him how he survived as a geek, because I instantly felt out of place.

Yeah, I guess I mean I grew out of his comedy. No interest in revisiting Mork and Mindy or Aladdin or Mrs. Doubtfire. But I guess I was never really a fan, because I never had any desire in seeing any of his dramatic stuff, either.To be perfectly honest, I'm hard pressed to think of a celebrity that I would be really missing from his or her passing.

Is it bad that I'm less concerned about Keith Richards eventually dying than I am curious about how it's finally gonna happen?

I looked up "racist deleted scenes in Fantasia," and what I got was 23 seconds of what looked like a cross between a red pitchfork-carryin' cartoon devil and a blackface caricature. Honestly, that was less than I was expecting. I'm used to WB cartoons having Bugs Bunny dancing in black face and hugely racist WWII caricatures being a focal point of their cartoons.

How do you guys feel about kids' programming that has more nuanced messages regarding good vs. evil? I'm not sure if The Legend of Korra even counts as a "kid's show" at this point, but I'll spare you why I think that is and say it can still be enjoyed by families, if not the under-10s that may have difficulty getting into it. Anyway, that show's season 3 has villains that are trying to overthrow what are essentially corrupt dictators. While the show makes it clear that they are the bad guys, at least because of their methods if not necessarily their goals, it's not as clean a dichotomy between good and evil as many shows I grew up watching. The bad guys make some pretty fair points about why their goals are what they are. What age group do you think those kind of villains are appropriate for? Oh and season 3 ends on a bit of a somber or at least troubling note in many ways for the good guys as a result of battle scars. I bring up LoK specifically, but I think how much black&white or gray an approach kids' stories to good and evil is a fairly universal issue in media you guys could discuss in that ESRB podcast you mentioned.

I'm always surprised when I hear people say they had no idea The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe had religious overtones, but then I was reading the book in a second grade Catholic school that was also interested in teaching us about C.S. Lewis's conversion to Christianity, so there's that. I certainly have to admit I wasn't aware Tolkien's works were influenced by his experiences in WWI or WWII (I forget which) until I saw a History Channel documentary pointing that out. Or maybe that information is inaccurate, but the point is I can't say I've always been keen on allegory without a teacher straight up pointing out to me "the lion is Jesus." But I did have one doing this for TLTWatW, so that's why I tend to assume everyone notices the overtones.

I've had friends who worked at either DisneyWorld or Disneyland. A coworker of mine when I worked for SFA Residence Life was Tigger and his room let you know it. Another friend had a good experience waving kids around with light sticks for crowd control and working food sections I believe. Finally, a coworker I had higher up the chain than me at the company I worked at after getting my Bachelor's was none too pleased with her Disney experience. I want to say she was one of the actresses and she posted a Facebook status about how much more appreciated she felt at the job I had with her than she was at Disney. I actually got up to the phone interview after a job fair on campus my Freshman year, but decided against getting paid pretty much minimum wage and living in an apartment with several other people which would be sucking up most of your paycheck (at least later on through loans) from the sound of it. They were definitely selling it as an "experience" job and I had no interest at that time. 

Glad you had fun Angelo! I need to get to a Disney park at some point in my life. I saw a bread cone with bacon and cheese in it being offered at one of the parks and ... it doesn't sound like my thing. But I bet there's good food elsewise and I'm sure it's a great experience. Hopefully, I can save up one day.

Actually, The Last Airbender and Korra are great examples of modern "good vs. evil" cartoons. I realize that the cartoons I grew up on were toy adverts, but that didn't stop the show creators from putting in some great messages and coming up with amazing characters, and I think that's missing from a lot of things these days.

After hearing you talk about diablo 3 last podcast i had to add you guys. The social features are great. Still havent had a Legandy for your psn yet. For some reason i keep getting drops for the saem few people, its a bit annoying. As for the leveling i always have a socketed helm with a red gem. The version i use increases xp by 37% i think. Also, play with people. Even if its random. The xp gain is multiplicative as well adding not 10% flat per player, but 10% of the xp boost you already have. so if you play on master, 300% with 4 people it give and extra 90% and not 30%. More players, more XP, More monster slaying. i have also found out that most of the players in public are friendly. Some with mics, some with out. Public is definitly the way to go if you want to level up.

I've been making my way through hardcore mode, and I can't wait to tell my story on episode 55. I didn't talk games on the new episode because we spent so much time on Gamer Gate, but this has been one of the most stressful things I've attempted in recent gaming memory.

Always wanted to go back to Disney after I went there as a kid. One day.
