I'm really glad someone ended up using The Mars Volta for one of these (Tyrone's pick for Patrick). I still regret missing them in high school one time they came to Dallas. I forget if that band split up and reformed At the Drive In, or what happened.

I dug the Tool and Priest as well. I think Tyrone and I would have gotten along well in high school.

I didn't think of Guitar Hero, or I would not have brought up Yakuza for the millionth time (the karaoke was just the only game music I felt anywhere close to WWE-style I could think of atop my head), but I am glad you guys had fun with it.

I don't mind the length of these episodes partly because I can listen in chunks. Speaking of which, I'll be back later when I clean my office tomorrow.

Farewell, Angelo!

And you like Yakuza? Hell yea we would have gotten along!

Damn, I feel like I'm losing a favorite podcast. Not only is there a few months break but a staple of the show is leaving for good (outside of guest appearances). Loved the outro for Angelo, may he never live down Culdcept Saga. I wish there had been a way to work around the changes in Angelos life but you have to respect a man who is able to make the tough decisions. I'm going to miss you Angelo and hope you get into a position where you're free to come back regularly. It's never the same without any of you. Hoping you can come back for Nier: Automata talk when you're done. I was really anticipating the conversation with Julian.

I finally finished God of War. The game kicked my ass for the first few hours til I got some upgrades. Combat got much easier for me after about 20 hours. Though I still don't have the fluidity I'd really want. I can definitely see the potential to be amazing at it. I really enjoyed it but I don't get best game ever vibes. Definitely in the conversation for best PS4 game. Though I'd say Horizon was a better game in my opinion. If you can muster the strength, try pushing to the point where you take the magic chisel to a place at the lake of nine. I can't imagine you being too far from there. That's around where I got hooked.

Well guys it's been a blast. Hope to see you back sooner than later. I'll definitely be impatiently waiting. What will be the best way to keep up to date on what you guys are doing Julian? Is Twitter the only way? Or are you still doing stuff for pixlbit?

Twitter will be the best way. Maybe I’ll decide to write some stuff since I won’t be editing for a while (this episode was a good 12 hours to assemble), but that would be sporadic at best.

I did get to the part you’re talking about and the game finally kicked into gear for me. I will probably finish it.

Alright, guess I'll have to dust off my old Twitter account once in a while. Glad to see the game kick in for you. I figured combat may be easier to grasp once you got there but I didn't want to spoil anything. As much as you hate him (and he gets so much worse sometimes) Atreus is a huge asset that is worth maxing out ASAP.

Dudes... one of the most bittersweet things I've ever listened to. The wrestling themes were super fun. I had a real good time listening to it, but man... I am really gonna miss Angelo. I hope you guys continue on with the show after the hiatus. Angelo's shoes will be very VERY hard to fill, and I know you guys will miss him as well. Totally understand why he has to go though. Shit happens. Thus is life. Podcast stuff is not easy at all. I have a feeling I'm going to learn that firsthand pretty soon as my sister and I have decided to give it a go. We more or less just need an excuse to talk to each other so even if it doesn't fully work out, we'll have a good time.

As I said, really gonna miss Angelo. I always loved his opinions on stuff. Dude knows so much about so many things and I have a lot of appreciation for people like that. I could listen to him talk all day about music and I wish him the best going forward.

My other comments, Poison is super hot. I'm totally into the hair and the whip and everything. Capcom seems super wishy washy on whether or not she's a female or transgender. I don't think Japan really knows how to handle that. Also Final Fight Streetwise is an absolute mess of a game. They realy tried to be super edgy and get in on that GTA money, and failed miserably. I have done all I can to erase that game from my memory.

Also on wrestling games, I am one of those smucks that buys the stupid, terrible WWE game every year. They haven't gotten any better. But I can't help myself. I kind of find a weird zen in creating characters on those games. I don't even like playing the matches, I just like making people. I have thrown away far too many hours of my life on create a wrestler stuff. I probably have a problem.

Also still haven't played GOW yet, from what I've watched of it I'm not sure if it's my kind of game. Maybe since I have some time off this month I'll give it a shot, but I'm still not sure.

TLDR: All in all great episode as always, I will miss you guys on your break. I will miss Angelo, and I wish him all the best! Take some time and get your groove back dudes!

Come back soon! Until then, catch you later pantsless dudes!

I backed the Chikara Pro Wrestling game on IndieGoGo. I have no idea how good it will be, but they were targeting the N64 era games with a faster engine and a robust create mode, so I'm hopeful. I want to make Austin's own Steve O Reno, because going to Chikara is his dream.

Bloodstained Curse of the Moon definitely looked more 8-bit than other new "8-bit" games and that's exciting. I really want to go on a cruise now; mainly for the food.

I really didn't know much about Final Fight, so that was interesting to hear.

What's a Culdcept Saga?

I'm glad you enjoyed the Final Fight discussion! I wasn't prepared for how many of our listeners would not be familiar with our Pak Watch picks. Like, we weren't trying to get super obscure, but every episode I've had listeners say they haven't played the Pak Watch game.

It's the age group of your listeners (i.e. me) I think. Because we were all so young in the NES and SNES eras, we (or at least me) played the super-obvious classics that everyone had, like Super Mario World, Duck Hunt, Street Fighter II, etc., but once you go even just a bit more obscure it's a battle of what random title may have been rented or not at that age.

At least that would be my guess, based entirely on anecdotal experience and no hard data whatsoever.
