Recapping Ratchet & Clank

Chessa leads the charge in an effort to recap the entire Ratchet & Clank series with a set of Review Rewinds.

With the release of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One quickly approaching, we thought it would be interesting to go back and replay all of the entries in the Ratchet & Clank series starting with the original. As those who are familiar with our Review Rewinds may already know, these articles tend to stray from the standard PixlBit review formula, allowing the writer to analyze and critique a game in any way they desire. As such, when going back through the Ratchet & Clank series, we'll be focusing mainly on the staples of the series in order to fully capture how each has evolved as the series has grown.

Each day, starting October 13, we'll post a review for each title in the Ratchet & Clank series in the order that they originally released, leading up to our review on the newest title in the series, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. As each Review Rewind gets posted we'll update the table of contents below.

We'd love to hear from our loyal readers so join us in commemorating the release of All 4 One by sharing some of your favorite memories and moments from the Ratchet & Clank series.

I can't recap or reminisce on anything Ratchet & Clank. I've never played the games. What I can do is throw in a mention of next TUESDAY's PlayBit: R&C All4One.

So I'd say we've got ourselves a full-on celebration of this here game and franchise on our hands...

You're missing out on a truly special series of platformers. I would love to see Insomniac take a swing at a Mario game.

Forget Mario, I want to see Insomniac take a stab at a 3D Mega Man game. It would be glorious.

I'm excited for this. I hope some people leave some comments about their experiences and on whether or not they enjoy this type of feature. It's one of the most ambitious PixlBit features ever and we'd love to do it again if it's well-received.

Something tells me that the release of Skyward Sword provides some great motivation to recap the Zelda series...

Ratchet & Clank is an oddity to me. I was never a big fan of the series, but I did enjoy the games. Most of them anyways. I never played Up Your Arsenal or Size Matters or the PSP games. I did play the first PS3 game and enjoyed it. I prefer Insomniac's Resistance series and their Spyro games.

This was a big platform series for the PS2. Jak and Daxter too. Personally, I always preferred Sly Cooper. Some of my favorite games ever.

Now I've got to wonder... how many Ratchet and Clank titles are there in total? We're on #8 I think...

And people complain about there being too many Mario games! At least they're in different genres.
