Hi, this thread is for people who are in love with Final Fantasy IX and everything about it.  I'm playing it for about the fourth time right now, and am just arriving in Lindblum.  This is my favorite FF game, and I like most of them quite a bit.

FF IX

From wonderful Vivi to the rain in Burmecia to the romance between Steiner and his lady knight, there's so much great stuff in this game it's hard to begin.  Have you played it?  did you like it?  I've never met anyone who hated it.  But for me, it's full of nostalgia, and sentiment, and I am making new memories with it all the time.

I think this is the only main Final Fantasy game aside from X that I haven't played.

yeah this game is great.  I got to the big hunt yesterday in Lindblum but saved before it.  I made sure I did everything in Lindblum first, including chasinf that actor dressed like a moogle.  I wish I had the patience for the card game, but I really don't.

The card game was one of the few things I didn't like about FF9. I think FF8 actually did it better, and I absolutely positively hated everything about FF8

The card game is mostly optional though you do need to win games in order to get some side quest items.

I loved this game all except for the sneaking up to get the key mini game which made me quit while playing it on my PSP. How I managed to get by it when I first played it I do not know. Maybe I had a lot more patience back then,

oh my god that part is horrible.  I've gotten past it twice or three times in my life, and I'm not looking forward to it again!

You win Snee.  I blame my frustration of Guacamelee's final boss on you.  I have been obsessing about playing FF IX and it is making finishing Guacamelee very difficult.  (I am not really complaining mind you)

I just got control of Steiner for the first time.  I love how he runs.

the characters are all SO good and so different.  Steiner is so damn lovable, but Vivi is my favorite.

I finished the hunt for Lindblum and am heading for Gizamaluke Grotto now.  I remember this is heading up to the end of the first disc on the PSONE version, and I remember very clearly the first time I played it and how into it I was when I got to Burmecia and the dramatic moments that unfold there.  These are really good memories.  I first played it when I was living in San Francisco in the late 90's, in my shitty ghetto apartment.  Times were tough, but this game was so good.

Sigh.   Anyway, I have Quina in my party now and I'm ready for the end of the first disc.

Yep. Definitely one of the best FF games. I blew through this pretty quick and digested it when it first came out. Then I replayed it again a few years later all Gamesharked out. It now has a permanent home on my PsP Go, along with the rest of the FF classics.

This reminds me that I never did beat this dang game. Pretty sure I got right to the end before getting distracted by something else. That's nothing against the game, it tends to happen to me more than it should. When I'm near the end then I've pretty much experienced all the gameplay in the game, and so it's easy to drift into something fresh.

This is definitely the best Final Fantasy game on the PlayStation, and probably the last good one.

yeah this one is great.  I like X and XII, but this one I truly love more than any of the others.  I played a bit of it today, getting to the end of disc one.  Give it another try, it's great!
