So a friend of mine lent me his PS3 copy, and I finally completed the story.

I honestly can't compare it to the nostalgia of the first game, nor to its narrative, but it's alright. Yup, just alright. Even the gameplay, and I wonder if it's slowed down (cover based) because of Max's old age. Heck I didn't even notice how many in-game years had passed since the first game. Maybe it's just a console thing because of controllerz, and on PC the game plays like it should.

I didn't even touch the multiplayer. I like Max Payne for the singleplayer experience and nothing more.

Rated: 3.5 out of 5 HOoM (Humble Opinions of Mine), or an 8 out of 10.

I really disliked that they took Max Payne from being a bullet-time shooter to a pop-and-cover third person shooter. Just kind of ruined the novelty of the first two games and made many parts of the game feel pretty mundane. Of course the narrative and the set pieces were fantastic, so that definitely propped it up for me.

Multiplayer actually wasn't too bad, but ultimately pointless. Not that many people were playing and it was a pretty shallow mode. Perhaps if they kept it to local play it would've gone some more mileage but I abandoned it once I finished up my review.

I don't know if this was just from my settings, as it didn't bother me because I'm Portuguese., but the best part is listening to the Brazilian dialogue with no english subtitles (although it still showed the subtitles in Brazilian). Immersion.

Do you still eat pain pills to restore health like in the original? I wonder if there was some kind of hidden message implied there lol. Undecided

I picked this and LA Noire up on some sale not too long ago; been working thru other titles before playing MP.

I liked this game I barely played the originals and barely remember but the action was very visceral and the story was cool kinda felt like a goo Die Hard movie.

I've been playing the 360 version for a couple of weeks up until yesterday. It's well-produced and not without its moments but I found it to be really repetitive and overlong. I didn't care for the dialogue (exchanges or narration). I also kept dying from cheap deaths (weird enemy placement in some spots). I feel that I've scratched the itch so I'll be moving on to something else.
