Stacking will be the second downloadable title released by the company and published by THQ.
Yesterday, IGN revealed the next title from developer Double Fine Productions, of Psychonauts and Brutal Legend fame. Stacking will be the second downloadable title from the developer, and as with their last title, Costume Quest, it will be published by THQ.
The game will feature a world entirely inhabited by Matryoshka dolls, and will feature a chimney sweep protagonist, Charlie Blackmore. Blackmore can stack with other larger dolls who possess special abilities, enabling him to perform a variety of other tasks.
Based on the teaser trailer, players can inhabit other dolls seamlessly, which quickly allows them to do things like seduce guards in order to posses their body, or float to a higher point given the balloons attached to a doll, or even clear a room with some specially produced gas.
Brutal Legend art director, Lee Petty is the creator of this latest adventure, as well as the director. Player can expect the title in spring 2011 on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
The trailer from IGN is available below.

This looks really cool, and once again, like Costume Quest, it's a really unique and original idea.
While definitely original, it does remind me a bit of Space Station Silicon Valley on the N64. Understandably it's not quite the same, but it has a similar premise and will hopefully be just as fun.

I'm loving these little Double Fine projects. So much character to them.
