Play Clever XBLA Puzzle Title via Special Code Download

The co-operative puzzle title, ilomilo, has launched, but it is nowhere to be found on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Right now if you were to search the Xbox Live Marketplace for the title ilomilo, absolutely nothing would show up for you except a dashboard theme and a game trailer. However, the title is actually available now - that is, if you have a secret code.

This co-operative puzzle game appears to have had a secretive launch and can only be accessed with a secret code generated on their website. If you click through here you'll pop open the page that will generate the marketplace code for you (after completing their CAPTCHA test).

In the game, players must work together in order to meet up at some point in the level. While co-operative, players will be taking turns in order to accomplish their goal, and both will have to manipulate the environment properly if they expect to succeed.

It's a bit confusing, but the trailer for the game, pictured below, does a good job demonstrating some of the gameplay.

For those that download the demo and like what they see, the game will present an option to purchase the full version for 800 MSP ($10).

It's on my download cue. I've wanted to try out this game ever since the first few trailers were released a while ago.

Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
