I guess you dont need a BIASED reviewer. You already got one.
PixlBit is Hiring!
We have a number of positions available and not all of them require you to write.
Back in 2008 I had the opportunity to realize a longtime dream of mine - writing and reporting on video games. Nintendo World Report afforded me that opportunity, regardless of the fact that I had no experience writing professionally or performing journalistic tasks at all. As we all know, from there, I went on to establish this website, which covers not just Nintendo, but gaming as a whole. Now with my own site, I'd like to offer the opportunity I once had to a fresh generation of game journalists. Here's the great part: you don't need any experience to be eligible for a position and if you aren't the writing type, we have other positions that might suit you.
Right now we're looking for a pretty wide array of positions to incorporate into our dedicated staff. The following is a full list of what we're looking for right now. Each role has multiple positions open, so don't worry about the position being filled before you have a chance to apply. If you don't see something you're interested in on the list, feel free to apply anyway, and let us know what you have a passion to do.
News Writer
This staff position requires a keen eye for gaming news. By checking various beats and scouring the web for information, News Writers will produce stories to inform our readers of what's going on in the gaming world today.
Podcaster
As you know, PixlTalk is seeing a revival thanks to Jason Ross and Nate Hascup, but they are still in need of weekly members. The host position is still up for grabs, and if we see enough of a demand, we may consider spinning off another crew for a new podcast with a different focus. Those who fill this position will need to perform some basic audio editing, but don't need experience doing it to apply.
Weekly Columnist
Those looking to share their views with the world would fill this position well. We are looking for writers who want to author a weekly column about some topic in gaming. It doesn't have to be anything particular, but the owner of the column should have insightful opinions and discussion provoking writing.
Graphic Designer
PixlBit is always changing and growing in new ways. This position will guide the style of the site and assist me in creation of new site features. Other random graphical work will be available outside of site maintenance tasks. CSS is a big plus and Photoshop/Advanced Editing is a requirement.
As always, we're still looking for the more generalized Staff Writer who wants to be involved with a little bit of everything. Again, if you don't see a position listed here that you think needs filling, let us know and we'll try and find a brand new spot for you.
Typically, we have a pretty in-depth application process, but because we are looking for a number of roles it's a bit harder to have a blanket process. As such, if you are interested, drop us a line at
jobs AT pixlbit DOT com
Send us your Name, Age, Location, Instant Messenger Handle and Client, and the amount of time you think you'll reasonably be able to invest per week (there are no quotas, so be honest).
If you are applying for a writing position, examples of your work will eventually be requested, so feel free to include those in your application, though they are not required up front.
