Catherine to Be Released in North America
From the creators of Persona 3 and 4 comes a game about the pleasures and horrors of love.
Yesterday, Atlus announced plans to release Catherine in America. After a teaser sent late last week, asked Atlus Faithful, "Do You Still Like Us?" Atlus announced full plans to bring the latest from the creators of Persona 3 and 4 to the United States. The game, which will be releasing on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, offers up a unique blend of genres not unlike what has been offered in the Persona series.
The game's premise involves a love triangle between Vincent, his girlfriend, Katherine, and his lover, Catherine. After getting drunk and waking up next to Catherine, Vincent will need to get to the bottom of his actions from the night before, while dealing with the repercussions of the decisions he has made.
During the daytime in the game, players will have to navigate deep moral decisions, which in turn will effect the direction of the story. At night, Vincent will navigate his nightmares in various action sequences that make up the bulk of the gameplay experience.
Already available in Japan, the game has garnered a positive reaction, earning a 35/40 from Famitsu with all reviewers, but one, awarding the game a 9/10.
North American fans will be able to grab the game this summer on either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 according to Atlus. Various online retailers have the game listed for release on July 26, but as of right now, this date has not been confirmed.
