Pikmin 3 Development Moved to Wii U

According to Matt R, Miyamoto announced in Nintendo's roundtable that Wii U is the new home of the next Pikmin.

During Nintendo's roundtable tonight, Miyamoto revealed that Pikmin 3 has been shifted from the Wii to the Wii U. The game had been in development for Wii for some time, but was moved when Wii U development began because the system caters so well to the Pikmin game design.

Miyamoto stated that the game could be a launch title for the new system, but no definitive release dates were announced.
