Gran Turismo 5 DLC Detailed

Racing fans, get ready for a massive update.

Next week Gran Turismo 5 is getting its first dose of paid DLC soon and boy is it a doozy.   Lucky for you, we’ve got the details.

According to the official US Gran Turismo website, the DLC will be available piecemeal or as a bundle for the sweet price of $11.99.  Here’s what you get:

Course Pack (Priced at $7.99 by itself)

The new Course Pack includes 2 all new tracks to spin your wheels on: Circuit de Spa-Francochamps, a high speed technical circuit; and Kart Space I/II, a trippy Technicolor indoor circuit for racing Karts.  Both tracks support both normal and reverse modes.

Racing Car Pack (Priced at $7.99 by itself)

Highlighted in this Car Pack is the Red Bull X2011 Prototype ’11—hailed as “The fastest racing car on earth.” Also included is a lineup of eleven specially tuned touring cars and three new racking carts.

Racing Gear Pack (Priced at $2.99 by itself)

The Racing Gear Pack includes a variety of helmets and racing suits as well as other gear from outfitters like Alpinestars and Simpson.

Paint Pack (Priced at $1.99 by itself)

Including 100 new colors across 10 different themes, this pack will allow you to paint your custom machine practically any color you can think of.

The Gran Turismo DLC is scheduled to drop October 18, 2011.

I for one welcome this update and DLC. It's worth picking the whole thing up for $12. It also makes me sick to my stomach all this Forza vs. GT5 flaming fanboyism. To each his own and enjoy your games. Each game has it's strengths and weaknesses. Nothing is ever perfect...apart from a GT-R...and scarlett Johansson...and mac and cheese...Or Scarlett personally delivering your new GT-R holding a bowl of awesome mac and cheese.

/because racecar /because sexylady /because macandcheese
