Vita Dated for North America

Christmas is coming a little late for the handheld gamer.

After months of speculation we can finally put a solid date to the upcoming release of Sony’s newest portable system.  Sony has made official a February 22 release date for the Vita in North America and Europe.

The news was made public at the 2.0 summit in San Francisco by the SCEA president Jack Trenton.

The Vita will be available in two models, a WiFi only version for $249 and a 3G version for $299.  Both versions are region free and will be first made available on December 17 in Japan.
