Star Trek Online Goes Free To Play

Cryptic Studios has announced that Star Trek Online will become free to play on January 17, 2011. This model has proved to be quite successful as Cryptic Studios' other MMO Champions Online has gone this route as well earlier this year.
Gamers will now be able to play Star Trek Online for free or can pay $15 a month for a gold membership. A gold membership will grant the player more character slots, inventory space, rewards and priority when logging into game servers. A free membership or Silver membership will limit access to in-game chat, customer support and forums.
