PS3 Disc Drive Errors Not Sony's Fault

Though originally thought to be linked to Firmware 3.0, the release of 3.1 has revealed that the issue lies with users' hardware.

Players noticed issues with their PS3 recently after updating to Sony's 3.0 firmware. The issue came while playing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and WipEout HD.

In retaliation, Sony released firmware 3.1 hoping to solve the issues. After thorough investigation, Sony has responded that the firmware is not at fault.

Players are now forced to send their console in for a pricey repair, though their systems had no issues prior to installation of the 3.0 firmware.

How can they have disc read errors from Wipeout HD, isn't it a PSN title?

The person I'm referring to is, of course, Michael Alvarado, otherwise known as Michael117.
