Doom 3 Source Code Now Available

John Carmack stated an intention to rewrite the section of code in question to ready the source for release. Work must have been completed in a timely fashion, as the source code is now readily available through GitHub.

Aspiring game programmers now have another great learning tool, as id's tech is some of the best in the industry. Others can expect to see Doom 3 starting to be ported to plenty of new devices and operating systems over time thanks to the open source code provided by id and its parent company Zenimax.
