So what is with the recent trend of releasing things in Europe before North America?
PS3 Owners Getting Battlefield 1943 After All
EA has no desire to get lawyer'd.
It is wise to keep your promises, especially when it comes to platform-exclusive perks, and EA is learning this the hard way. We reported earlier how EA had promised PlayStation 3 purchasers of Battlefield 3 would get a download code for a free copy of the 2009 digital release of Battlefield 1943. When it didn’t materialize, PS3 owners were not pleased, to say the least. A class-action lawsuit was filed against EA, but before you can say “holy litigation, Batman!” EA has made good on their E3 2011 promise.
European gamers are first up, getting their download codes on November 26th. North American players are next up, on December 10th. Last but not least, Asia will get their vouchers on the 17th of December. If you haven’t entered your online pass yet (and what are you waiting for?), you’re already partway there. After the code is available, you can go to 1943redemption.battlefield.com to get your code.
The PlayStation 3 got a lot of love from third party publishers and developers at E3 this year. Besides the aforementioned Battlefield 1943 deal, it was announced that PS3 owners who purchase BioShock Infinite will get a free copy of the first BioShock, as well. PS3 owners will also be getting the upcoming “Back to Karkand” DLC pack a week early.
