Vita Not Limited to a Single Account After All

Seems rumors of the Vita's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

We reported earlier this week that the Vita would be limited to a single PSN account per system and would require a factory reset to swap to another account.  Turns out that isn’t entirely accurate. Sony has stepped forward and clarified that the PSN accounts are bonded to the memory stick and not to the system itself.

“Your PSN ID is bonded to your memory card and your memory card is bonded to your Vita,” said Sony associate brand marketing manager Crystal MacKenzie to Wired.com.  “So if you wanted to change different PSN users but use the same memory card, you would need to go factory reset.”

Essentially this means that it is entirely possible to have multiple accounts on the Vita without having to factory reset, though you will need to have a memory card to hold each account.  This will come as good news to gamers looking forward to taking advantage of the Vita’s region free functionality.

Doesn't help the fact that Vita's memory cards are still very, very expensive for a little piece of plastic.

It's nice to have some good news about the vita. Not that I thought this was a big issue to begin with but I'll take what I can get.
