Could "American Nightmare" be a New Alan Wake Game?

Or is this just another title for Night Springs?

We’re just two days away from seeing the first trailer of the next chapter in the Alan Wake series on the Spike TV VGAs, but we have some interesting news today for fans of Mr. Wake. Last year’s Xbox 360 exclusive was the culmination of years of development, only to release the same day as Red Dead Redemption and have poor sales. While we know an XBLA game called Alan Wake’s Night Springs is on the way, we got word today that there’s something else Alan Wake related.

A game titled Alan Wake’s American Nightmare has been rated by Germany’s USK rating board. The thing is, we don’t actually know what this is. This could be a new game, possibly related to the trailer that’s about to debut at the Spike TV VGAs. It could be a different name for the already announced Night Springs, though it’s rare for games to get different names in different regions these days. At the moment, your guess is as good as ours.

We’ve seen some interesting news come from overseas lately, especially when it comes to unintended game announcements. Recently, we learned that a digital version of The Simpsons Arcade Game by Konami is in the works thanks to an Australian ratings listing. As always, we’ll keep an eye on these developments and report when we have more concrete information.

I had just assumed it was a different name for Night Springs. We shall see I suppose. Pretty excited to see the Night Springs trailer on Saturday.

Me too. Alan Wake was one of my favorite games last year, and I hope that Remedy can continue the series in some form or fashion, even though the first one didn't sell well.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
