The Last of Us Officially Revealed at VGAs

A post apocalyptic world houses Naughty Dog's latest creation.

Tonight at the VGAs, The Last of Us from Sony was officially revealed. While information has been leaking all week, the big reveal is that Naughty Dog is behind the game. Set in a post apocalyptic world, a seeming father and daughter are struggling to survive as they are hunted by some sort of creatures that could potentially be otherwordly.

No release date was revealed for this PlayStation 3 exclusive game, but be sure to check out the teaser trailer below.

Naughty Dog is my favorite developer so this excites the hell out of me. Not the most original setting for a video game, but the trailer was really cool and I think Naughty Dog will do something amazing with this concept.

This game looks incredible. And I read somewhere that one of the leads on this game worked on Enslaved, which was one of my favorite games of last year.

This was the highlight of the VGAs to me. I'm glad that Naughty Dog is moving over to an original IP at this point.

I hate to say it, but this didn't really grab my attention. I'm glad Naughty Dog is trying their hand at something new, but I don't know that I'm much of a fan of the whole post-apocalyptic, zombie-ridden world cliche.

The Metal Gear Rising video topped this for me, but this was definitely a close second... everything else sucked.

I'm interesting in this but I'm not excited. Simply because it doesn't really tell us anything about the game other than its theme. Naughty Dog has always been a mixed bag for me as I loved Crash Bandicoot, didn't like Jak and Daxter and never played Uncharted, aside from a demo. This is just a wait and see for me.

10 bucks says the shooting mechanics suck :DThat's a pretty awesome trailer though, and whatever those enemies are, they sure are freaky. They did a good job letting you feel the tension. I sure hope Naughty Dog does the 'everyday normal guy' thing a little better than they did Nathan Drake though. He's crossed the line way over into superhuman in my opinion.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
