Devil May Cry HD Collection Release Date

Get a triple dose of HD Dante next Spring!

Thanks to the trend of HD reissues, you could easily spend most of 2012 playing the best games from 2001-2006 and not even think that you were missing out. Hot on the heels of the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus and Metal Gear Solid HD Collections, we’re just a bit away from Silent Hill, and let’s not forget that Jak and Daxter is on the way as well. We here at PixlBit have quite a few games and series that we would like to see get the HD treatment. Devil May Cry didn’t quite make that list, but it was definitely in the discussion. We already knew that an HD collection for all things Dante was on the way, but now we know when.

Set your calendars for April 3, 2012, because that’s when you can get your hands on the first three games in the Devil May Cry franchise, in glorious HD. The collection will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $39.99. The version of Devil May Cry 3 included will be the special edition, which featured an easier level of difficulty and the ability to play as Dante’s brother Vergil, among other goodies.

This is undoubtedly leading up to the release of the controversial Ninja Theory-developed series reboot, DmC. We discussed it at length in the latest episode of PixlTalk, so check it out!

You know, I'm actually really getting excited for this collection. I'm eager to try these games out as I have little to no experience with them aside from the third and fourth game.

I can't wait to re-play the first one, totally skip the second one, and actually beat the first boss on the third one. That game was TOUGH.

Since I'm an Xbox gamer, this really is my first shot at some of these games. I'm really considering picking this one up.
