Tickets on Sale for Legend of Zelda Concert

Is the Symphony of the Goddesses tour coming to a town near you?

Gamers who picked up a first run copy of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword had a little something extra in the box: a symphonic CD featuring music from a recent concert in Japan. There had been rumblings of a tour that just might make its way to North America. We can now put those rumblings to rest, as tickets have started to go on sale for The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses tour.

Following in the footsteps of popular concerts like Video Games Live and Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy, the Symphony of the Goddesses is more than just the name of a music tour. It’s also the name of a four-movement symphony that incorporates music from some of the most popular Zelda games. Those would be Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and A Link to the Past, if you were wondering. Fear not, hardcore Zelda fans—you’ll get music from Link’s Awakening and Majora’s Mask, as well.

These are the tour dates as of today, which are of course subject to change. Tickets are on sale for all shows now, with the exception of the show in Toronto, which goes on sale March 31.

Jan. 10: Dallas
March 14: Vancouver, British Columbia
March 26: Seattle
March 28: San Francisco
April 7: Denver
April 20-21: Phoenix
May 12: Atlanta
May 31: Montreal, Quebec
June 22: Austin, Texas
July 14: Orlando, Fla.
Sept. 29: Toronto, Ontario

As someone who has been to VG Live twice and Distant Worlds once, I can say without reservation that you should pull the trigger on this if you can.

So far no Midwest or Northeast dates for the US yet. I'm sure it will be in a major city like Boston or NYC (double dip with exclusive Zelda Symphony merchandise at Nintendo's store?). Midwest, I'm thinking Chicago, Ohio (Cinncinati, Columbus, or Cleavland), Indiana.

Hopefully they'll have something more in store for the rest of the Canadian provinces. They're hitting the major cites for sure, but there's a lot between Vancouver and  Toronto...

On a side note, any word of a CD or DVD of one of the concerts? Sounds like a no-brainer...

What the crap, nothing in New York?

More locations will be announced closer to the dates of the tour. I would assume they'll probably pick up something in New York and another location, like Jacksonville, in Florida, for instance.

Orlando isn't too bad of a location for a good bit of Florida - not sure if I'll be able to get a babysitter, but I'd sure love to go to this.

So I totally found out today I might have other reason to be in Orlando on July 14th. Funny.
