Nintendo’s April-December sales recap reveals that they are still a force to be reckoned with.
Nintendo’s initial launch of the 3DS may have fallen short of expectations, but the handheld bounced back triumphantly, as three first-party titles easily cleared the million unit milestone. Super Mario 3D Land topped the list selling 5.03 million units worldwide. Mario Kart 7 also did well with 4.57 million units sold worldwide. Finally The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D sold 2.49 million units.
The Wii also had a strong performance from Link, as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword sold 3.42 million units through December. That places Skyward Sword 3rd on the Wii sales chart, behind Mario Kart Wii (4.91 million) and New Super Mario Bros. Wii (3.43 million).
The DS’s Pokémon White/Black also continued to put in solid numbers, topping the handheld’s chart with a combined 2.91 million units sold. New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart DS followed respectively, with 1.87 million units and 1.26 million units.

Don't start celebrating too early guys. Nintendo actually had to adjust their forcast from a 20 billion yen loss to a 60 billion yen loss - according to their latest financial fillings. It's looking better, but Nintendo still has a lot of work to do to get into the black again.
