Metal Slug XX Announced

Those who pre-order the game get a very... personal bonus.

The original Metal Slug X was released over ten years ago for the Neo Geo MVS. Today, SNK Playmore announced that a sequel, Metal Slug XX, to the decade old title is coming to the PSP.

The game will feature seven stages for players to navigate through, some with multiple paths that will lead to different enemies. Two players can battle through each level together via the ad-hoc multiplayer feature. In addition to the main stages there will be a "Combat School" mode that will feature over seventy mini-games.

SNK Playmore promises the title will utilize the capabilities of the PSP and deliver a game with "gorgeous 2D sprite" visuals. Fans of other SNK Playmore series will recognize two guest characters from the King of Fighters series, Ralph and Clark.

Metal Slug XX will release in Japan for the PSP on December 23 2009 for a price of ¥5,040. Anyone planning on pre-ordering the game in Japan will receive a pair of underwear as a bonus.
