EA CFO Leaves Company, Among Other Staffing Changes

Executive staff's departure leaves EA searching to fill his position.

EA recently announced several changes to their executive staff, not the least of which was the departure of Eric Brown, their now former CFO.  He has accepted a new position with Polycom, a company that handles telepresence and videoconferencing, among other telecommunications systems. He will assume a dual role of CFO and COO, managing “all financial, operational, and IT functions at Polycom.”

According to EA’s announcement, the move was “based on [Eric’s] career goal to combine his expertise in Finance with deeper involvement in Operations.”  Polycom also released their own statement on this change, stating ” Eric's strengths and track record in finance, operations, and IT are exactly what Polycom needs at this time of unprecedented growth at the company.”

This will bring a close to Brown’s second term as an EA employee.  Previously, he was COO at EA’s Redwood Shores studio.

Despite the passive language, this move seems to come as a surprise to EA, as the same announcement contains a line stating they are still searching for his replacement.  Other staff changes at EA include Mark Tonnesen joining EA as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
