Oblivion and Fallout 3 Collection Announced

The double pack can be bought on April 3, 2012.

Bethesda announced a double-pack release of Oblivion and Fallout 3 today. On April 3, 2012, you'll be able to pick up the two games on Xbox 360 and PC for $29.99 and $19.99, respectively.

The artwork says "Games of the Year," but these are not the Game of the Year editions, so they do not come with the DLC packs that have been released for each game.

This is a great way to drum up new game sales long after games are out of print. It's good for the consumer and for the company. Of course, this will only further drop the used game costs, but it gives players a great, viable option to purchase new, get a great deal, and endorse the publisher/developer.

I agree. I only wish they would include the DLC though. Like codes or something if its too much content to fit on the disc.

Yeah, I can agree with that. Seems like the right thing to do at this point, considering that neither of the games are the latest in their respective series. I view these offerings as part deal, part venue to sell the latest games in the series.

I suppose since each of these games already has a "GOTY" edition with all the DLC they figure that those that want it will get it.  Still, not a bad deal since the DLC isn't necessary to enjoy either of these games.

This is true. The DLC seems less appealing to get separately when it'll cost you more to get all than it did to get both games.
