Bayonetta to Appear in Anarchy Reigns

Platinum's online brawler just got a little more awesome/weirder.

Platinum Games, the studio that burst from the corpse of famed Clover Studio, has had a pretty decent track record of ridiculously fun – if still a bit offbeat – games such as Mad World, Vanquish, Bayonetta and the Metal Gear Solid offshoot, Revengeance.  While Revengeance may be getting the lion’s share of attention from the fans and media alike these days, the studio has been working on another interesting title called Anarchy Reigns (or Max Anarchy as it is known in Japan).

The game is the fifth in their publishing deal with Sega and is described by the developer as an “online action combat game” – a brawler in which the player controls a single character in a colorful lineup and deals out death in a variety of interesting and brutal ways.  The cast has been steadily growing since the game was originally announced and includes known Platinum regulars like Mad World’s Jack Cayman and Big Bull.

All this considered, Platinum fans have a lot to be happy about, but a recent reveal from Famitsu via Andriasang is sure to stoke those flames just a bit more.  Bayonetta has been confirmed as a playable character and is highlighted in the video below.

According to the magazine, the character will be made available as a pre-order bonus in Japan.  No word at this time as to whether the character will make it overseas for the US release or how she’ll be offered, but you can be sure that we’ll let you know as soon as we do.

The person I'm referring to is, of course, Michael Alvarado, otherwise known as Michael117.
