Orcs Must Die! Sequel Announced

Still so many Orcs left to kill...

Robot Entertainment have revealed that a sequel to the tower defense action game, Orcs Must Die, is now in development. Those who attend PAX East this weekend will be able to see the new game in action. Those unable to attend the show can check out a screenshot and announcement trailer, available below.

Orcs Must Die! 2 will feature all new spell books filled with traps and summons and a new character, the female Sorceress. Along with the War Mage, gamers will have the chance to play cooperatively in the campaign. In addition to the new characters and spell books, Robot Entertainment is promising new enemies and a revamped skull system, which is used for improving your abilities.

The first Orcs Must Die! was originally released for both the PC and Xbox Live Arcade. As of right now, Orcs Must Die! 2 has a release window of Summer 2012 and is coming exclusively to the PC. Check out the announcement trailer below.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
